So here we have it, my blog is finally ready to roll out. I must admit this took me a lot longer than I thought it would. I, of course, blame CSS and coding for being ridiculously difficult as I tried to tweak just a few minor things on the page to better suit my needs. For some basic information about me and this site in general, feel free to check the “Page/Author Info” link to the right. Of course you can also see my other various online haunts over there as well. Please use those links because getting those display properly is what took so darn long in getting this site up and running. Heck, I did the reskinning of the theme in just two days of working on it here and there.
Sadly my first post isn’t all fun and games and all that as my dog, who was approaching 14 years old, passed away. I was prepared for this to occur as he just wasn’t in the best of shape anymore, but it was still tough to take. His name was Mage (hey, I was 16 at the time), and he was a purebred American Eskimo. I’m not quite ready to get a new dog yet, I really need to get school finished and get settled in to a nice place before I consider the option. I also don’t really want to feel like I’m rushing to replace him either.
On a more positive note, I finished my first semester of school on Thursday and am pretty confident that I did well enough on my finals to maintain my straight A’s, or at least high B’s. This puts me at about the 1 year point from graduation, so that’s an exciting prospect. It will be a slow year though and this coming semester will be the worst as we get only one week off between this semester and the next and there’s no real breaks through the semester. At least after this semester we get over half a month off, and then two weeks between 3rd and 4th.
That really accounts for just about everything interesting going on right now. I will be posting about some anime titles soon, as well as some movies as well. Posts about anime and film will actually likely make up the bulk of what is posted here actually, I just don’t have anything ready yet. Feel free to comment or make suggestions, visit again, link to the RSS, or whatever.

Sorry about your dog, man. I remember when I had two pekin dogs when I was living in South America. They were stolen on a Sunday when we were at church; my brothers and I were devastated. It sucks to lose a pet, I can’t even imagine what it feels like to lose a pet you’ve had for 14 years. =/

Yup, architectural drafting. It doesn’t quite tap in to my creative side as I would like, but the careers that do are not very secure. I do enjoy it, though I don’t enjoy the whole full-time school and full-time work at the same time thing.
I’ll have some more posts up this week I hope. Just need to find some software to view and screenshot DVD’s on my PC for the anime/film posts. I’m hoping I can avoid having to buy anything, heh, but I’m betting I won’t be that lucky. I did find a freeware player, but the problem with freeware is it can be questionable in quality, so I’ll give it a shot and see. Otherwise I’ll go out and buy some software, they’re not that expensive.
I appreciate the feedback. I don’t mind being categorized as an “IGN Buddy” at all, that is what I am after all, hehe. I’ve got you in my Blogs RSS feed on my browser as well. I find that’s the best way to keep up with peoples blogs and it’s nice WordPress integrates the feature.
First, my condolences for losing your dog. They can be such precious companions. I never really got over my two previous dogs passing on, so I’ve simply chosen not to have pets anymore. It’s a little sad, but I have a spouse, so that works.
Your layout ended up looking very nice. Good luck with the blogging thing. I have fun with mine, but I generally make the assumption that no one reads it. Makes it much easier to write.
Thanks Mylene. I’ve actually read your blog in the past, though I have not commented on anything in the past. I’m still having a few headaches with font sizes, but I think I’m starting to get it squared away. Feel free to stop in again.
Reading my blog? Poor thing. Please don’t think I’m as idiotic as it often makes me sound. My ‘deep’ thoughts are typically spoken (my husband and I love to lay in bed at night and talk anime), my blog is full of rants or fangirling (or quickie summaries for my future use). :p
Are the fonts coming up a bit smaller than you’d like?

The font problem I was having was that on some computers they were showing up small, and with this font that also meant light green for some reason. Unfortunately the way the theme was coded it’s hard to get the menu on the right to change as one setting effects all the fonts over there, and another only effects the bottom.
I think I’ve got it taken care of though. I just increased the menu fonts slightly, just took a bit to balance the two settings so the top and bottom font sized matched. Still having problems getting the time to right the next entry as for some reason everyone has been available this week so I haven’t had the time to sit down and watch anything. Going to work on it tonight though. It is my first attempt though so it may take me longer than it should as I figure out how I want to do it.
Hmm…that seems like it should be fairly easy to fix if you just put in some different, err…crud, can’t remember what they’re called. I’m learning CSS this semester in my information architecture for the web class, and it doesn’t seem like you should be tied like that. Hopefully you’ll be able to figure it out though.
